Safety Recall of Joytech Brand Wii Power Station equipped with rechargeable lithium-polymer batteries

Recall Summary

A safety recall is being issued for all Joytech brand Wii Power Station units that utilise rechargeable lithium-polymer batteries, together with their two accompanying battery packs, all of which are labelled “Lithium”. The lithium version of the Wii Power Station, which was manufactured by Millenium Dragon Electronics, an independent third-party contractor in China, has a potential to overheat, presenting a possible burn or fire hazard to customers. This recall does not include Joytech brand Wii Power Stations and battery packs that are equipped with nickel-metal hydride (“NiMH”) batteries, which do not bear the “Lithium” mark.

See the Safety Recall Notice for the lithium-model Wii Power Station here.

Please note that the Joytech Brand Wii Power Station was sold as an accessory to the Nintendo Wii, but it is not a Nintendo product. Neither Joytech nor the Wii Power Station is in any way affiliated with Nintendo.
